Volksbank AG was one of the first signatories of the "Diversity Charter”. This initiative promotes a change of consciousness and dialogue within the company with respect to personnel diversity. Diversity is seen as a key factor for global competitiveness and economic growth. VBAG launched the diversity project in 2009.

Oikocredit

Oikocredit provides microcredits and project credits specially tailored to the needs of poor people. Microcredits can help to create a stable livelihood. The capital is provided by some 36,000 investors. This is already helping 17 million people worldwide. Volksbank AG actively supports Oikocredit as a cooperation partner in implementing projects.

ÖGUT – Austrian Society for Environment and Technology

ÖGUT operates as a non-party platform for the environment, economy and management. Its aim is to overcome barriers between economy and ecology. VBAG is a member of this society, is involved in the task force “Business Ecological Benchmarking” and is also involved in the initiative “Turning the page future dialogue 2035”.

respACT – austrian business council for sustainable development

VBAG advocates socially responsible action in ist immediate environment. respACT is a valuable partner of economically implementing ecological and social objectives. The austrian business council for sustainable development is Austria’s leading corporate platform for corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development. respACT supports the member companies in achieving ecological and social objectives in an economic and responsible manner.

We support Global Compact

UN Global Compact

Volksbank AG ist committed to the principles of the UN Global Compact and ist objectives. The “Global Pact” is based on a UN initiative by Kofi Annan (1999 World Economic Forum in Davos) to cushion the social and ecological impact of globalisation. There is an obligation to submit regular reports. The GRI guideline forms the basis for reporting.
